Sydney – it is time to join the international Drinking About Museums movement! Already there are Drinking About Museums meet-ups happening in Colorado and Boston, and we thought it was time to start one of our own.

Any updates to the plan will be Tweeted on the #drinkingaboutmuseums hashtag, and I will try to post updates here too.

This is a chance to get together and talk about the future of museums, whilst having drinks with new and old friends. If you are interested in the issues confronting museums now, and into the future, come along. We are hoping that this will become a semi-regular event (once every six weeks?), with special guests whenever we can convince them to come along. From time-to-time there might be more formal programming, but generally it will just be a chance for museum professionals to hash out ideas about museums.

We’ll be meeting next Wednesday from 5.30pm. However, if you can make it to the MCA early, come along at 4pm for a screening of The Clock .
